Thank you for choosing Silk & Sorrow.
These policies are here to make the booking and tattoo process clear, comfortable, and respectful of both your time and mine. Please review them before booking. By submitting a booking request and paying your deposit, you acknowledge that you have read and agreed to the policies below.
APPOINTMENTS
All tattoo sessions are by appointment and must be requested through the official Silk & Sorrow booking form.
When submitting your request, please include your tattoo idea, reference images, desired placement, approximate size, and any relevant information about existing tattoos or the condition of the skin being tattooed.
Your appointment is not confirmed until you have received confirmation from me and your required deposit has been received.
Clients must be 18 or older and should arrive with a valid government-issued photo ID.
DEPOSITS
A non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your appointment and will be applied toward the final cost of your tattoo.
Deposits cannot be transferred to another person or a different tattoo project.
Submitting your deposit confirms your appointment and your agreement to these booking and studio policies.
RESCHEDULING & CANCELLATIONS
I understand that life happens. Appointments may be rescheduled once with at least 48 hours’ notice, and your deposit will transfer to the new appointment.
Cancellations, no-shows, or rescheduling with less than 48 hours’ notice may result in forfeiture of your deposit, and a new deposit may be required to book again.
If an emergency comes up, please contact me as soon as possible. Emergencies will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
ARRIVAL
Please arrive on time and prepared for your appointment.
Arriving late may shorten the time available for your tattoo or require us to reschedule. Arrivals more than 15 minutes late without communication may be considered a no-show and may result in forfeiture of the deposit.
DESIGNS & CREATIVE PROCESS
Every tattoo is designed specifically for your appointment and based on the concept discussed during booking.
Designs are not sent in advance. You’ll have an opportunity to review your design when you arrive and discuss minor adjustments before we begin.
Major changes to the concept, size, placement, detail, or other elements of the tattoo may require additional time, a revised price, an additional deposit, or a new appointment.
I reserve the right to decline changes that I believe would compromise the quality, longevity, composition, or artistic integrity of the tattoo.
PRICING & PAYMENT
Tattoo pricing is based on the size, placement, complexity, level of detail, and time required to complete the piece.
Any quote provided before your appointment is an estimate based on the agreed-upon concept. If the scope of the tattoo changes, the estimated price may change as well. Any significant pricing changes will be discussed with you before proceeding.
Your deposit will be applied toward the tattoo, and the remaining balance is due at the end of your appointment.
Accepted payment methods and any applicable processing fees will be communicated before booking.
PREPARING FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT
Please arrive well-rested, hydrated, and having eaten a meal before your appointment. Do not arrive under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs.
For longer appointments, please bring your own food and hydration. Headphones are welcome if you’d like to listen to music, podcasts, or other audio during your session.
Studio temperatures can fluctuate, so dressing in layers or bringing an extra layer is recommended.
For portfolio photography, neutral clothing such as black, white, gray, or tan is appreciated. Bright or vibrant colors can affect the consistency and appearance of tattoo photographs.
Please let me know in advance about any allergies, skin conditions, medications, or health concerns that could affect your tattoo or appointment. If proceeding would be unsafe, I reserve the right to postpone or decline the tattoo.
If you are feeling unwell, please contact me as soon as possible.
GUESTS
To maintain a calm, comfortable, and safe studio environment, please plan to attend your appointment alone unless a support person is necessary for accessibility or has been approved in advance.
Studio space is limited, and additional guests may not always be accommodated.
Please do not bring children or pets unless discussed and approved beforehand.
AFTERCARE
You’ll receive detailed aftercare instructions following your appointment.
Proper aftercare plays an important role in how your tattoo heals. Healing can vary based on skin, placement, lifestyle, and adherence to aftercare instructions.
Please follow the instructions carefully and reach out if you have concerns during the healing process.
TOUCH-UPS
Once your tattoo is fully healed, a complimentary touch-up may be offered when appropriate and is subject to review.
Complimentary touch-ups are not guaranteed and may not apply when healing has been affected by improper aftercare, picking, excessive sun exposure, or other circumstances outside of my control.
Touch-up requests must be made within the timeframe provided in your aftercare instructions.
ARTWORK & PHOTOGRAPHY
Original artwork created by Silk & Sorrow remains the intellectual property of Silk & Sorrow unless otherwise agreed to in writing.
I may photograph completed tattoos for my portfolio, website, social media, or other promotional purposes.
If you prefer that photographs of your tattoo not be shared publicly, please let me know before your appointment.
STUDIO ETIQUETTE
Silk & Sorrow is intended to be a safe, respectful, and comfortable environment.
Please treat the artist, studio, and other clients with respect. Harassment, discrimination, aggressive behavior, or repeated disregard for studio policies will not be tolerated.
I reserve the right to stop an appointment or refuse service when necessary to protect the safety, comfort, or integrity of the studio environment.
AGREEMENT
By booking an appointment and submitting your deposit, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these policies.
Thank you for respecting my time, my creative process, and the space I’ve created for you.
